The Team Lead, Community Wellness will perform duties and responsibilities consistent with the psychosocial rehabilitation model approach, therapeutic recreation and adult education. Staff within the Community Wellness program promote the empowerment of individuals to explore personal wellness needs and interests to engaging in meaningful activities which create opportunities to grow important coping and life skills, build resilience, increase their sense of purpose and to feel connected to their community.
The Team Lead will work collaboratively with leadership, staff, clients, and the community to enhance the mental health of clients. The Team Lead will provide operational support to the team and Program Manager through clinical consultation, client service tracking, staff scheduling and coordination, staff orientation and development, reporting, and assistance with implementation of program strategic objectives, as well as supporting the Director and Manager of the program.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
- What you’ll be making: Starting rate for this role is $28.46 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service, Team Lead), with a wage differential, based on regulation ($31.29 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Team Lead Regulated):
- Successful candidates who are registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g. OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the wage differential for regulation
- Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($35.61 per hour for non-regulated, and $38.43 per hour for regulated)
- For internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement
- When you'll work - 70 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

- Orient, train, and develop staff and volunteers involved in the delivery of programs and services
- Oversee daily program planning, problem solve issues and provide guidance around program concerns and direction
- Support the implementation of new initiatives and policy and procedure change within the programs
- Provide support for coordinating and offering program coverage as needed
- Active participation in collaboration, resource development, systems development, and partnerships
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with appropriate community service providers
- Assist with the development and coordination of wellness program for individuals living with mental illness and/or addictions, in collaboration with like-agencies, clients, key stakeholders and family members
- Seek out and maintain knowledge of current best practice literature in the field and evaluates programs on a regular basis to ensure they meet client needs and are consistent with best practices
- Through individual discussion and case conferencing, coach and provide clinical consultation to direct support staff in service planning, referrals, and problem-solving client interventions using best practices
- Collaborate with other staff in developing and facilitating therapeutic or educational group programming
- Assign primary workers to attend to client files where applicable, appropriately evaluating and taking into consideration relevant factors impacting successful and positive case assignment
- Where applicable, coordinate program waitlists and ensure timely and efficient case assignment
- Monitor client service milestones and ensure appropriate documentation completion
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.
We require the following qualifications:
- College or university credentials in social services, mental health, therapeutic recreation, or related field (Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e. original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript)
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance to carry out job duties
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
- Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and/or Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO)
- Experience supporting clients in the community mental health and addiction sector
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation concepts and applications and Therapeutic Recreation principles and practices
- First Aid / CPR
- Knowledge of community resources
- Crisis intervention and prevention training
- Applied Suicide Interventions Skills and Training
- Bilingual both official languages, preferred; préférence sera accordée aux candidats qui sont compétents dans les deux langues officielles du Canada
